ACE is the only active professional membership organization for correctional educators and related professionals in the state. ACE mission is to advocate for excellence in correctional education by providing high quality services and resources for members. ACE values and promotes excellence, innovation and evidence-based practices supported by data and research.
ACE has aligned their regional organizational structure with the Arizona Regional Centers which are voluntary structures implemented by County School Superintendents and/or alliance of Education Service Agencies with support from the Governor’s office and Arizona Department of Education (ADE) that provide locally defined and accessible professional development, educational services, and technical services to address the statewide high priority initiatives including but not limited to: Data Use, Standards and Assessment, Great Teacher-Great Leaders, Struggling Schools and STEM.
ACE joint sponsored “Phoenix Rising” has provided a venue for customized professional development/training for the past nine years for educators and related professionals from county detention, county jails, probation, ADJC, ADC, federal prisons and community colleges as well as the Arizona Supreme Court, AOC. It has been a cost-effective solution to providing professional development and training.
Local, state, national and international presenters have brought a high level of integrity, experience and expertise to symposium attendees.
Secure care education in Arizona is a continuum for court-involved juveniles and adults. Therefore, ACE provides a network where secure care professionals can share expertise and build excellence across the continuum, thus benefitting secure care students.
